Vale of Lune are staging a 10s tournament at their Powderhouse Lane ground on Saturday. Sixteen teams from Lancashire and Cumbria wll be involved in the event, a national one, sponsored by Heineken. The formant has become very popular with games only lasting 20 minutes during which the action is fast and furious. Vale have entered two teams and they are joined by Fylde Storm, Blackburn, Aspull, Carnforth, Kirkby Lonsdale, Tarleton, Old Lancastrians (former pupils at Lancaster Royal Grammar School, Lancaster University and University of Cumbria. The action kicks off at 11.30 with ames being played on three ov Vale’s pitches. Other attractions include an arm assault course and a bouncy castle. A special BBQ will be on the go all afternoon. Entry to the ground is £2.
