Ana with Jack Fergusson
During the past four weeks physio Collette has been sidelined with illness but her deputy, Ana, has stepped into the breach and taken over the treatment and rehabilitation of the players from all the club’s teams.
There is more in the job specification of club physio than being on duty on match days because valuable time is spent treating injured players on training nights and sometimes arranging extra sessions ahead of weekend games.
Ana is to be congratulated and thanked for her dedication in what has been a demanding time both on and off the field.
Lancashire RFU president Clif Barker will be a special guest at Vale’s game against Tyldesley at Powderhouse Lane on Saturday. It promises to be a great match against old and friendly rivals. Please note that the game will kick off at 3pm as will all of the rest of the home fixtures this season.
The re-arranged fixtures for the Vale 1st team have now been entered on the website. As supplied by Fred Swarbrick today Monday 15/02/10 at 17.30.

With winter now well and truly here, Vale players are training indoors on Thursdays, using the facilities at the nearby Lancaster and Morecambe College. And the sessions are now to start at 7pm so that players can study the videos of the previous weekend’s game. Joint Director of Coaching Andy Higgin said: “Filming the games is something new for us and the end result provides us with a good opportunity to analyse our strengths and our weaknesses.” Training proper will begin at 7.30pm.
Vale of Lune’s fixture against Garstang on Saturday the 26th December is away and not at home as published in the fixture card. The Vikings and the B team are combining to send a team to Kirkby Lonsdale on the same day. Both games kick off at 2.15pm.
On Monday, 28th December, Vale Junior Colts are at home to Altrincham Kersal. That games kicks off at 12 noon.
